New Feature: MMA Rankings

Published by Nerd of Steel at 10:58 pm under MMA

I’m going to introduce tracking mma rankings in this blog.

As the sport of mma has grown it’s getting hard to keep track. There are so many weight classes and organizations these days to comb through. Personally I’m very biased towards the UFC and Pride, at this time I believe the quality of mma talent in these organizations stands above the rest.  But I’m having to keep my eye on organizations like the IFL more and more.

I’ll try and help track the different analysts and news organization mma rankings. Maybe I’ll even average out the mma rankings here to create a one stop shop.

I look forward to seeing the MMA rankings. I don’t follow the sport all that much, except by reading about it sometimes.

I have thought about getting some training in it, but given that my day job has limited the amount of time I have for my workouts, I will probably focus on improving my boxing skills. I read some of your posts about MMA and see you have done some grappling.

I don’t want to rehash the debate here, but I don’t see why MMA and boxing cannot coexist and both be successful sports.

I look forward to learning more about MMA by reading your blog.

    Hey Steve,

Boxing is a core component of MMA, lots of people I know got into boxing through their interest in MMA. I don’t see why the sports can’t coexist. They’re both great sports.

MMA is a lot of fun to train. Really with your boxing background you could skip the kickboxing and just learn to grapple then pull it altogether with some MMA training.
