More Ankle Woes
I went to the doctor yesterday and he pointed out a few interesting points. I never thought of this ankle as a weak link in my chain, but when we went over the history of injuries there were quite a lot. I’ve broken this ankle and sprained it 6-7 times over my entire life. That’s enough injuries to build up a good measure of scar tissue.
My doctor approved of what I’ve done so far but said I should have stayed on the anti-inflammatory longer. Apparently it’s possible to still have a swollen ankle 2-3 weeks after the injury (which I still have). So 2 more weeks of rest and another regiment of anti-inflammatories. If it’s not better in 2 weeks I’m getting an MRI.
While I’m on the bench I’ve been coming up with creating ways to continue my boxing development. I’ll post about them later. Stay tuned.

Hi.
Sorry to hear you’re on the bench. Get well soon.
This might be an excellent time to work on the mental aspect of boxing. There is a lot you can do with visualization, mental rehearsal, positive affirmations, and so forth.
I’m mentioning this because I am starting to work on my mental game more. If you do decide to focus on the mental part, I hope you’ll blog about it here and keep us updated about how it’s going.
Get well soon, friend!
Best wishes for speedy recovery!
Hey, Nerd of Steel!
You haven’t blogged for a while. Are you doing OK?
Hey Steve,
That’s very nice of you to notice. I’ve been distracted by frustration over my ankle not healing and I’m taking an on-line marketing class right now, which I hope to promote my blog a little bit. My traffic is still fairly low since all I’ve done is index the site with search engines and write content.
I was just putting putting together some posts for next week. So I’ll be back.
As for my ankle, I was waiting for insurance approval for an MRI. Although over the last 3 days it just started to feel like it’s improving so we’ll see what happens.
