What to Do Over the Holidays

I started this post with the intention of saying what I was going to do this week. Partly to set goals and partly to convince or motivate myself to do it. But realistically I won’t do much. This lead me to thinking, what should a person focus on in the holidays?

Here are some thoughts for my training this week:

  • Jump rope, maybe set a goal to do a few rounds. You can do it anywhere, indoors or out and it’s not as rough as roadwork, sprints or hills.
  • Show up to the gym and work with my trainer once.
  • Run sprints once.
  • Shadow box intensity intervals: 3×3 mins, 4×1 mins, 5×30 secs.

If I do that I’ll be ready for a more serious week of training the following week. If I do a little more the week of New Year’s, I’ll be ready to train all out starting the first week of 2010.
